Arizelos (11813)

Deep in the heart of Brazil stands Arizelos. There are a few sons of Shirley Heights (GB) available in the sim and several are bargain breds. Arizelos is one of those with a very solid pedigree but very little use here in the sim. Like I said last week a sire like this makes you think you have your own personal sire out in the back yard.

Arizelos (GB) is a son of Shirley Heights (GB). His dam sire is Habitat and his dam’s dam sire is Tanerko (FR). Arizelos (GB) won three of four lifetime races before being sent to Brazil for stud duty. As you can imagine results of his offspring are hard to come by but it looks like he has produced a few stakes winners. He has a bunch of stamina with a 1.18 dosage index.

Here in the sim Arizelos (GB) has just one sim runner. That’s right one. He is a four year old and still a maiden and not much else to speak about. He has produced three other runners for a total of four in his sim career. Of the three retired horses two of them won three races however his highest earning sim runner only earned $23,727. Getting the fastest and highest earner ever from Arizelos (GB) should be no problem.

For linebreeders or inbreeders there are three sires that will appear in the fifth generation of Arizelos’s offspring. Nasrullah, Princequillo, and Turn-To all solid angles. Northern Dancer line dam sires would probably be my first choice in searching for a dam sire. Really every major line out there is available to fit with this pedigree giving us a literal ton of options.  High Top, Sharpen Up, and Petingo are all excellent choices to use with Arizelos as they all seemed to blend well with Shirley Heights. Obviously with Shirley Heights (GB) overwhelming turf influence that is the direction I would head.

From the Northern Dancer line I like a whole bunch of sires. Night Shift, Fairy King, Secreto, Shareef Dancer, Unfuwain, El Gran Senor, Be My Guest, Herat, Royal Academy, Stravinsky, Green Dancer, Chiefs Crown, Atticus, to list a few.

From the Turn-To line to get that 5X5 inbreeding there are several sires you could use in the dam sire spot. Lear Fan, Red Ransom, Silver Hawk, Dynaformer, Kris S., Cure the Blues, and Devil’s Bag. In the dam’s dam sire spot you could use Cox’s Ridge, Riva Ridge, Halo, Roberto, or Stop the Music.

The Nasrullah line has several options as well. For dam sire Arazi, Candy Stripes, Crystal Glitters, Rahy, Rainbow Quest, Cannonade, Glitterman, Liloy (FR), or Spectacular Bid. From the dam’s dam spot Blushing Groom (FR), Secretariat, What a Pleasure, or Blade.

With Princequillo it is easier to find dam’s dam sires to achieve the 5X5 inbreeding. Poker, Knightly Manner, King’s Bishop, Illustrious.

I think Arizelos’s offspring will tend to be late developers. They should start to run well at three and just get better as four year olds. I would think his offspring will really take to the turf for the most part however this is the sim so he could very well produce a few dirt runners. His runners are probably going to love running routes. I doubt he will produce many sprinters if any at all.
