Peace Rules (15245)

Peace Rules is by Jules (Forty Niner). His dam sire is Hold Your Peace (Princequillo) and his dam’s dam sire is Greek Answer (Northern Dancer). Despite a somewhat speedy dosage index of 4.50 Peace Rules was consistently good at a mile and an eighth and even won at a mile and a quarter. He would get head strong on the lead and hang very tough when he was on his game.

Peace Rules beat recent Breeder’s Cup mile winner Singletary as a two year old on the turf. He won a couple of Derby prep races the Louisiana Derby and the Blue Grass. He would go on to finish third in that years derby behind Funny Cide and Empire Maker. As a four year old Peace Rules defeated Saint Liam twice on his was to three graded victories. He showed lots of heart in his racing career.

In the sim Peace Rules has thirty-four off spring with eight winners already. Surprisingly he runners so far have not liked the turf at all. The fastest of five runners to try the turf is a 57-speed figure. In contrast twelve of his runners have already broken the 70-speed figure on the dirt and that is darn good for this time of year. He has been bred to a variety of dam sires from the Northern Dancer line to the Mr. Prospector line.

Peace Rules pedigree already has a little but of everything in his pedigree. Mr. Prospector, Northern Dancer, Ribot, Nasrullah, Halo, and Princequillo. Mr. Prospector will be in the fourth generation of Peace Rules offspring so using dam sires that are grandsons of Mr. Prospector like Unbridled will create 4X4 inbreeding to Mr. Prospector. Inbreeding like that has worked in the sim and even closer up inbreeding has worked so I would not be afraid to use a son of Mr. Prospector as a dam sire.

I think Seattle Slew and the Northern Dancer lines would be good places to look for runners. Another intriguing line would be the Sir Ivor line sires like Sir Tristram, Zabeel, Octagonal could be solid choices. The Bold Ruler line looks good as well with Secretariat and Spectacular Bid. Buckpasser should blend well. In that dam’s dam slot I like some older lines if you can make them fit like Hyperion or Mahmoud.

Peace Rules (15245) X Unbridled (6852) X Al Hattab (122)

Peace Rules (15245) X Octagonal (4519) X Nijinsky II (4344)

Peace Rules (15245) X Danehill (1494) X Secretariat (5677)

Peace Rules should produce pretty well on both surfaces. He is off to a slow start producing turf runners but I think as his runners try different things we will start to see if he can indeed produce a turf runner. His runners should be solid two and three year olds. Even though he ran well at four, maybe his best I tend to think his offspring will be tailing off a bit by the time they are four. His runners should be solid sprinters and even good middle distance horses. I would not expect classic distance runners from Peace Rules unless you breed him to stamina.
