Reba’s Gold (15255)
Who is Reba’s Gold? Reba’s Gold will be standing Alex Trebek’s Creston Farms. Reba’s Gold is by Slew O Gold. His dam sire is Heart (Northern Dancer) and his dam’s dam sire is Bold Reason (Turn-To). A solid runner he ran from age two to age seven. He broke his maiden at two however only had one start at age three. At four he ran twelve times and was a very good allowance horse. His break out year was at age five when he won his first stakes race.
He won two stakes races that year and hit the board in four other stakes. His graded stakes runs were solid but he faced the likes of Pleasantly Perfect and Congaree. As a six year old he finally got the elusive graded stakes win and hit the board in a couple of other graded races that year. At seven he had three starts but did not hit the board.
Reba’s Gold has been used just once so far in the sim. His pedigree is pretty solid and has a nice blend of speed and stamina. Reba’s Gold performed well at distances over a mile but had enough speed to compete at shorter distances. This is one of the few sires that is inbred to Buckpasser. Reba’s Gold was inbred to Buckpasser 3X4. I would avoid adding more Buckpasser blood when breeding with Reba’s Gold.
His pedigree really seems to set up well to be used with Raise a Native line dam sires. Mr. Prospector, Alydar, Affirmed, Majestic Light. Other lines that should blend well are In Reality, Ribot, Damacus, and Nasrullah.
Reba’s Gold (15255) X Majestic Light (3739) X Arts and Letters (337)
Reba’s Gold (15255) X Relaunch (5255) X Raise a Native (5116)
And a bargain…
Reba’s Gold (15255) X Pioneering (4800) X Illustrious (2939)
Breeding a little stamina to Reba’s Gold will help to ensure you get a runner that will run over a mile. His runners should prefer the dirt much more than the turf. If your runner is not taking to the dirt throw them over to the turf you never know. He should produce solid two years olds. He was durable so I would expect his runners to be durable as well. |
